My name is Jen Studt and I am the Social-Emotional Learning Specialist (SELS) at Peak and Wheat Ridge SEL Articulation Coach. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed School Counselor who has worked as a counselor in multiple education settings K-12 and previously was a children’s ski instructor and whitewater rafting guide. In my free time, I love to travel and spend time in the mountains- skiing, rafting, biking, camping, hiking, and doing yoga. I bring my dog, Mellow, along whenever possible! I am so excited to be working at Peak with this wonderful community. • Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) helps students acquire and apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.
  • Social and emotional skill building can have a positive impact on school climate, improve academic performance, and prevent or reduce negative behavior and emotional distress- CASEL (The Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning).
  • Myself and teachers provide evidence-based direct SEL lessons in each classroom aligned with CREW values to support Peak students and positive school culture.
  • Social-emotional learning also occurs at Peak through project-based learning during CREW time, including Portraits of Respect and Better World Day.
